I am a business practitioner in the SME sector. My professional career started in a corporation in 2000. I have been successfully developing my own business for over 17 years. I started in a flat, with an online shop called Drewniaczek, then I took up the wholesale of educational toys, then I bought two companies: Smartoys and Ekomaluch. I went from a small business to a Limited Liability Company sp.k and then to a General Partnership. Like any small business owner, I have to familiarise myself with all aspects of running a company, i.e. accounting, taxes, sales, purchasing, logistics, and I could go on and on about what else. Sound familiar?
Despite the many challenges I have on a daily basis, I wouldn't swap for a corporate job!
However, in a fast-paced world, I often wonder how to balance family life and personal passions with managing a company,
And a 24-hour day has... well, that's right... only 24 hours, or as many as 24 hours :-)
Currently, as of 1 April 2024, my business has undergone a complete reorganisation. I have abandoned the online shops and all B2C sales, abolished the warehouse, and laid off all employees. I am working from home, serving a few B2B clients still in the children's industry. However, I am intensively looking for new business challenges, which I write about more extensively and in full honesty on my blog.
